Survivor Nicaragua Episode 3 Elimination the Tribe has Spoken

This weeks episode was a little surprising but not a total shocker. Espada tribe, the ole fogies you might say lost another challenge and reward which was combined into one. Contestants from LaFore tribe had the opportunity to use their medallion of power which would have given them a small advantage and lead in the challenge. They chose not to which proved to be the correct decision as they didn't need it.

Tribe members had to roll 10 barrels onto small platforms and stand them all up forming a backwards looking bowling pin set-up. Then race back to a mat, once everyone from their tribe was on the mat they were allowed to begin tossing sand bags on top of each standing barrel. The first tribe to get all their barrels with a bag on it won.

Jimmy Johnson being the leader of Espada chose Tyrone to do their tossing and he started off with a flurry landing nearly all of his first (6) bags on top of a barrel. Something went wrong however and he went cold and began to have plenty of trouble getting any more to stick. He blamed it on the barrels saying, "they were getting farther away as I went". In the background Jimmy T. (not to be confused with Jimmy J.) was complaining that he could do better and basically said, "put me in coach I'm ready to play". He was allowed to toss a few bags after the reluctant Tyrone gave in and gave up his position of thrower. It proved to be too little too late as LaFore had now jumped ahead and pulled the win off with Ben at the helm.

So once again Espada was sent back to their camp without the much needed win and food that was the reward. Having to decide who goes home proved not to be a difficult decision for most of it's members. Clearly some thought Jimmy Johnson was the weakest link while a few like Jane had second thoughts and didn't want to see him go. In the end however the choice was nearly unanimous and Jimmy J. was the 3rd person voted off Survivor Nicaragua.

As disappointed as he clearly was I'm sure he was ready to get back to his warm bed, cold glass of wine or what ever his millions of dollars he already has buys him. He didn't need the money and stressed that all along attempting to manipulate the others into allowing him to progress. It didn't work and a weak and haggard looking Jimmy got his fire extinguished and was sent down the dark trail of elimination.

Looking ahead it will be interesting to see how LaFore reacts to winning the challenge and reward. Will they be able to keep it together with the she devil NaOnka in their midst? Upon reaching for the reward basket, NaOnka the physical ed teacher and Kelly Bruno the medical student with a prosthetic leg, both saw a note in the basket of fruit and spices. And you know what that means, a note with clues to a hidden immunity idol.

kelly bruno

This is where some of the riskiest play comes in as far as any previous Survivor has ever underhandedly  committed. Burning or stealing someones socks, filling 1600 dollar reptile skin shoes with sand and throwing them into the ocean or burning a favorite hat doesn't compare. (let's not forget the 'snakes and rat' speech) It's a game, do not get confused about this or misinterpret that aspect, but to make yourself look like such an ass and bully is uncalled for in many serious minded viewers' opinion.

Again it's only a game and if you enter it with this firmly in mind then just because you only have one leg so to speak, then you know this is not going to necessarily be an advantage. In this case it worked against Kelly. Doubt we've seen anything yet, wait till the finale. I have a feeling it will be just as dramatic as the first seasons finale when Susan Hawk performed her 'rat and snake' speech directed at Kelly and Richard, the top two finishers.

The "rats and snakes" moment is arguably the most remembered moment in Survivor history, as the season one finale was the highest rated episode of Survivor to date and it was the first (but not the last) time in Survivor that anyone ever expressed such bitterness and anger. Entertainment Weekly put it on its end-of-the-decade, "best-of" list.

NaOnka is the new Susan in my opinion. She would take the clothes off your back if you gave her the chance and it meant she would win a cool $1,000,000. Plus she has balls big enough to let you know she'd do it again if you give her an opportunity. All the while informing you that she don't like you, she loves you but it's a game lest your forget. She took the opportunity to knock Kelly B. out of the way and without hesitation grabbed the note with the clues to the idol.

This is why I like you NaOnka because of your agressive play, your straightforward hold no punches attitude and honesty. Your making the game exciting and fun to watch. Without you there would be no Survivor this year. It's not going unnoticed however, several of her tribe members clearly saw what she did and are now whispering amongst themselves on how cruel not only her mouth is but her play in the game too. I say they are intimidated and this will cost them the game but it may also cost her a shot at the $1,000,000.

Regardless, upon entering the game you need some type of strategy and self discipline but most of all you need to take some risk and play your own game not allowing others who played before you to coach you into a different mindset of play. This is what I assume happened to Shannon the most recent casualty. If you don't allow yourself to be yourself and play your own game then we'll read about you in the funny paper on Thursdays.

All I can say is NaOnka watch out you may be the next to go and if your not it's only because your tribe won another challenge or your tribe members know that you have no chance in hell of winning the game based on your social play and decide to keep you around for this reason. I say win every challenge and find all the immunity idols and bring daddy home a cool $1,000,000. Come on don't vote the only exciting player of this seasons game off.!

No Captain at Sea Deadliest Catch loses Three

It was Announced today that Captain Andy, Captain Jonathan, and Captain Sig will not return to the show.

"Capts. Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand -- who were sued earlier this month by Discovery for allegedly not performing work on a planned spin off special -- as well as Capt. Sig Hansen, said in a statement Tuesday that they were "unable" to continue on the series due to the litigation." according to Yahoo TV

I use to walk past the TV and see plenty of members watching what I only knew then to be high seas, rough waters, ice storms and a boat full of crazies attempting to haul in a square thingy made of steel, oh and full of crabs, sometimes.

A few weeks later, having found nothing else on in the world of reality TV, I began to watch with excitement and anticipation each weekly episode. And many reruns as well.

That boat full of crazies on the high seas fighting the elements of weather and tempers of Captains turned out to be 'Deadliest Catch'. From the moment I began to take the time to watch I realized that the show brought to us the reality, if not insanity, of Crab fishing in the Bering Seas. King and Opilio crab fishing seasons.

Those square thingies turned out to be crab pots made of steel up to 1 and a 1/2 inch in diameter in some places and weighing in at up to 800lbs each empty. Put several king crab in there and you have a very heavy, dangerous object bouncing around on an already dangerous situation. Stir in some crazed Captains and greenhorns who know only enough to possibly die from a deadly mistake and you have the Deadliest Catch.

The show began in 2005 and with the filming of the upcoming season to begin in October they will be without what's possibly the main characters. Captain Sig who's been with the show since the first season and the Hillstrand brothers Andy and Johnathan not to mention the death of beloved Captain Phil Harris. For me the show begun to get stale after the first couple of seasons in what seemed to be nothing new thereafter. Let's see what the new season brings without it's longtime characters.

The Girl Who Didn’t Take a Watermelon to the Face

by Maria Rainier

So, now that we’ve seen Claire Champlin get hit by a watermelon and emerge, somehow, without a broken face, let’s talk about Brook. The clip from Amazing Race shows her as saying, “You gotta finish [the competition]” seconds after Claire claims she can’t see straight and that her face is numb.

In her Youtube defense, Roberts says that she’s a victim of heavy editing and that in reality an hour had passed since the watermelon bigger than Roberts’ head had connected with her face. “I was definitely very compassionate,” says the self-professed “good friend” to Champlin. The word compassionate is mentioned three times in the span of one minute and 41 seconds—okay, we get the idea. That she rubbed Champlin’s back and made sure she had water, there’s little doubt. But let’s keep an eye on the big picture, here. Clair got smashed in the face with a watermelon—something dense and heavy enough to give most women and a lot of men pause in the grocery store. She took one to the face. It really doesn’t matter how much time passed, does it? The point is that Brook declared, “You gotta finish.” Wouldn’t the “good friend” thing to do be to ask Champlin if she even wanted to finish? Hey, whatever, she’s her friend, not mine.

In which case rises another question: why hasn’t Champlin come to Roberts’ defense? Roberts claims that despite all the hurtful attention paid to her on national TV by Anderson Cooper and E!’s “The Soup,” she’s also been offered time on other reality TV shows. Is the lack of a she’s-a-good-friend video from Champlin part of an unspoken scheme to keep the offers rolling in for Roberts, or was Roberts as good a friend to Champlin as the defensive Jewelry Television personality claims?

Here’s a video of Roberts’ defense to decide for yourself:

Season 17 of The Amazing Race Full of Surprises Premieres Tonight

Who will be the first pair to make it to the elimination station.

If you've not seen it the Amazing Race teams up a set of two players who have some sort of previous connection. Coming from a variety of backgrounds it could be they are Mother and daughter or Father and daughter or in a relationship as a couple. In this years episode as in all the others everyone has a favorite or soon chooses one in the first few episodes. It's always fun to see who is the so called villains and not well liked because of their competitiveness or witty play.

There's a new twist to the game this year. At the opening of this 90 minute edition, host Phil Keoghan introduces a new opportunity to the game. Contestants have the chance to get an Express Pass. Keoghan let's them know that the first pair of winners of the first leg of the race will be rewarded with it.

The pass can be used at any point in the game at the beginning of first 8 legs. Used only once mind you but it will allow the winning pair to bypass a challenge and move on to the next. Thus giving them the extra advantage to come in first and be the first pair to leave for the next leg. Seems a little unfair that the winners of the first leg end up with the advantage that may carry them to the end but then again it's not always the case. We shall see.

Two of the women, Brook and Claire, both Home Shopping Television hosts, are the stars featured in a viral Internet clip that went horribly wrong. The pair attempting to launch watermelons from a large slingshot when it backfires and hits Claire in the kisser. Brook's suggestion to Claire after the shocking mishap: "You have to finish." Watch it below if you haven't seen it.

Cancer Patients Should be Locked Up ~ Then Why Lock Up Linsday Lohan

After her early release from jail and her early release from rehab what did not so sly Judge Fox expect. Last week, prior to Lohan's Twitter admission, TMZ.com reported that she tested positive for cocaine. Then came her self admission on her twitter account which can be seen below.

"Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before Judge Fox next week as a result," Lohan wrote on her Twitter account last week. "I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful....Thank you all!!!"

My question is this. And before you go giving judgement about how she is a spoiled Hollywood brat that don't deserve any kind of leniency, my question is should we lock up all addicts or should we be more focused on the treatment aspect and recovery?

The justice system has become a business that feeds off addicts

Our jails are full of addicts who are not actually criminals. Yes if they possessed, bought, sold or committed a petty crime to obtain drugs then they are guilty as per our justice system. I agree some are not wanting to do anything about their addiction and have no desire for a recovery program. I also understand that there is others who if given the chance could succeed in recovery. Some would even have relapses such as Lohan but should we lock them back up.

Addiction is a disease and locking up addicts who relapse is not the answer. Would you lock your mother or father or child up if they had cancer that was in remission but they had recurrences? Hell no you wouldn't!

So Far Dumbest Survivors Ever

Holy smokes, where do you start with this bunch of castaways? I have to agree with some of the comments I've read on the web this morning.

"Haven't these people ever watched any of the last 20 seasons to see how the game is played?" by Mary Jane McKay

Shannon Elkins, a 30-year-old father of three from Lafayette, Louisiana, was the second contestant eliminated from "Survivor Nicaragua" Wednesday in a tumultuous tribal council. Here is an excerpt taken from his bio:

Why you think you will be the sole SURVIVOR: I'm very likeable and very athletic so it will be hard to get rid of me.

Well it seemed pretty easy to rid you of your spot as a castaway and any chance to put another notch in your belt Shannon. You may be likeable but you weren't liked too much according to your mates.

Even Jeff Probst was blown away by the past two tribal councils and the way the castaways are playing the game. With his take on last nights tribal council Jeff said, "Never in the past 20 seasons in the history of Survivor have we had so many opening statements open up a can of whoop ass as we have tonight." (paraphrased)

Watch out for NaOnka as she is one to be reckoned with and possibly the next to go. Hey she's picking on the one legged girl and threatens to kick the leg out from under her. And those socks she's wearing she stole from Fabio. Watch the video below for a glimpse at next weeks episode.

I am somewhat amazed as well but hey it should make for an interesting and fun season. What do you think? Have something to say join in the conversation by commenting and or retweeting and sending to your facebook friends.

This post brought to you by Dual Electronics. All opinions are 100% mine.

Reality fans, teens, adults, anyone and everyone can now pimp their ride with the newly released XDMA6630 mobile receiver with iPhone/iPod accessibility. The front panel USB connection gives direct access and control over iPods and iPhones with the iPod sync cable (not included) and recharges device simultaneously.

Remaining at the top of the technology game for real is Dual Electronicswith their cutting edge designs. The built-in blue tooth comes with a microphone to get that great sound quality when you are calling your friends and loved ones.

The receiver has a detachable face, a wireless remote control and accessibility of a steering wheel control interface (with an adapter sold separately). I would definitely use the steering wheel feature. Teens and adults will enjoy the cool factor plus the iPhone and media access and convenient features. The Dual XDMA6630 is available for $179.99 MSRP and is now shipping to retailers nationwide. Make sure you are the first one to show it off in your car to all of your friends.

What a great gift this would make as well. Wanna surprise your loved one? Do so with this, the head unit comes packaged with premium features, impressive numbers and big name partners, like Windows Media, Apple and Bluetooth. What more could you ask for? While the sound quality of most devices are alright, it is very different when you listen from a receiver specifically catered to providing great music sound quality. So why not the new XDMA6630 with it's 3.5mm auxiliary input & 2-RCA preamp outputs!

Most Disgusting Player in Big Brother History Matt Hoffman

Some say a pathetic liar, a narcissists, a young man who fell in love with his own reflection in a pool. I say the most disgusting player in Big Brother history.

He is a self proclaimed genius, a Mensa. I think not. The “Mensa” you and I know, has to do with top % of IQ value. If you go back to one of his bios, you’ll read that he belongs to an Italian/American social club by the name of “Mensa-Mia”. He uses a little Mensa license by dropping the “mia”. I say he is a devil in disguise who would sell his soul for money! One has to only remember how he used his wife or rather lied about his wife having a debilitating disease called Melorheostosis. Shame on you!

Yes Big Brother is a game of lies, cheats and backstabbers but it's difficult to watch you when you appear as fake as a three dollar bill that someone still tries to cash. How many times after your eviction did you say you could have won? The 'Brain' huh?

So is he really the most disgusting of all Big Brother house guest ever? Not even the redheaded she devil from hell, Rachel, could quite compare with Matt. Or past players such as Evil Dick or Natalie. Normally the most disgusting and hated player is also one of the most liked.

It's not ever going to be the case with Matt at least I doubt it ever will. Even as he placed his key in the final eviction turnstile he still thought he could have won. I say what the hell dude. With your quirky smile throughout the show and the looks on your face when others outed you each time was priceless! You my friend are the most disqusting House Guest of all time.

Congratulations Hayden and Britney Big Brother Winners

No big surprises last night on the season finale of Big Brother season 12. After winning the final HOH challenge Hayden only had to wait on the jury and his brigade brother Enzo to take it too the bank. It was close in the final voting but with his spectacular play in challenges, his social game and the fact he really never pissed no one off the entire season he was the clear winner.

With the votes 3 to 3 it came down to Enzo's vote and as tough as I'm sure it was he made sure Hayden took home the $500,000 leaving Lane with a measly $50,000. OK so 50 g's isn't so measly I'd sure take it. It was also revealed that Ragan was the 2nd saboteur and had received $20,000 by carrying through with the fan request via twitter and facebook.

And my girl Britney Haynes won the fan favorite and $25,000 by a clear vote I'm sure. On a side note in case you are wondering Britney and her fiance Nick's house burned or was severely damaged by a fire early Wednesday morning. She was not informed until afterwards. Since it was to be the final show and live it was decided by those close to her and the producers that she need not know until afterwards. I really feel bad for her and hope she gets through this with the least amount of difficulty.

Congratulations to both of you after a slow beginning it was really a fun season to watch.

Don't Forget the Big Brother 12 Clip-Show Episode Tonight

Tonight is an off night for Big Brother to be on. They will be showing clips from the season and scenes that haven't been shown before from this years episodes. Possibility that if you watch the live feeds or have been watching them then you may have already saw some of the clips.

Past seasons have asked the remaining two HGs to walk us down memory lane while others have purely been a series of segments that didn’t make it off the cutting room floor the first time around.

From the CBS video below it sounds more like we’ll get to see the start of The Brigade plus some extra scenes they hadn’t shown before on TV.

Who will the winning HOH take to the final with them. I really think it will be Lane and Hayden if Hayden wins the final HOH but if Lane wins it, then I think he will take Enzo. He or I would think that he would have a better chance to beat Enzo in the jury vote.

Whats your take on it? Please add to the conversation by commenting and sending to your facebook friends or StumbleUpon and retweet. Thanks

Big Brother Episode 28 Matt and Ragan Come Clean You Might Be Surprised

Big Brother Episode 28 Air Date: 09/09/10

Last nights episode of Big Brother revealed two things. One to the viewing audience and one to Ragan. Matt decided to come clean with Ragan about his wife and the lie he fabricated early on in the show in order to gain sympathy from the other competitors. It seemed to work for a while but didn't take him to the end that is for sure. Here's a short clip of last nights episode in the Jury house between Matt and Ragan.

In the beginning I certainly thought that the alliance called the Brigade, formed between Matt, Enzo, Hayden and Lane was a complete joke and that it would quickly fall apart. Boy was I wrong! Look who made it to the end. Enzo the meow meow, Hayden the animal and Lane the Beast. (nicknames Enzo gave them all. Matt was the Brain by the way.) Seems kind of funny the Brain was the first thing to go.

In the final episode which will air on Wednesday Sept. 15th (it will air at 9/8c, a different time due to the start of the Survivor season) Lane and Hayden will battle it out for the final Head of Household at which time the winner will decide who he takes with him to the final two for the jury to decide the winner.

So who's your pick? I foresee Hayden winning it all if he is not sent to the jury house by Lane providing of course Lane wins HOH. Then again Enzo has played a solid game is well liked and even though he never really won anything except a veto challenge he's still a favorite of his peers in  the jury house. I wanted Britney to win it all from the beginning. However, she'll get plenty of offers to make a career out of her appearance on the show.

As always please add to the conversation by commenting or tweeting and sending to your facebook friends.

Do You Watch Reality TV ~ I Must Have My Reality TV

(Update: theme for background needed. Send me info and prices in contact tab. Maybe we can work together to make these changes)

Remember the Dating Game, The Newlywed Game, Truth or Consequences or even Allen Hunts Candid Camera? Though it may have went on the back burner for several years, reality TV has been around for a lot longer than some people think or care to remember. Maybe your not old enough but I can remember laughing my ass off watching the Gong Show. What was your favorite back in the day?

A good majority of the time I spend watching the tube is spent on watching reality TV. The other 20% is focused on sports and this time of the year both are becoming readily available to watch. I like both because they are unscripted for the most part. And Reality TV provides for some dramatic or humorous situations from ordinary people not professional actors.

I'm not one that likes shows like CSI, Two Men and a Baby, The Big Bang Theory and on and on. I think alot of it has to do with my patience and lack thereof. Simply put I just don't really care to spend my time watching the premiere of a program that I know I won't watch again or for that matter begin watching a show that I know I'll turn the channel on. Maybe I should give some of these regular programs a chance as I'm sure plenty of people like them...no tried that still don't work for me.

I am sure that plenty of people do not watch reality TV either. Shows like Survivor, Big Brother, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, and The Bachelorette have all become a hit with their own audiences.

I'm one of the biggest fans of Big Brother, Survivor, American Idol and The Amazing Race. So much so that I have become friends with some of the past competitors over the past year, emailing and messaging on Facebook and some tweets. Unlike others you might see in movies and on the big screen these, at least the ones I've met online, really are ordinary people. I also found out that Gary Ervin and his daughter Mallory Ervin who are from my hometown in Ky. will be on the next Amazing Race. They made the final cut. Both are ordinary people and I wish you the best guys. Hope you win or at least go far and I'm sure you will. Your both such competitors that I know you will make this season an exciting one.

This brings me to turning point with this blog. I know I've had some loyal readers and you know who you are and I am so grateful for your input over the past year on all my crazy post. I've struggled as of late to continue with the niche or really lack there of. This is why this blog is going to become a reality blog. I still will not post everyday as I have other obligations that take up my time and so forth. But I will make it interesting and post at least 3 to 5 times a week depending on what Reality Show is currently in season. I do not watch them all but making this decision to take this blog to another level will certainly peek my interest in some of the ones I have not paid too much attention to.

I will also have some input from the past competitors and will be attempting to reach out to them even more so and ask them to help me get interviews from others. Most contestants are bonded from their experience and frequently participate in fund raisers, reunions and utter chaos if you will so it should be a fun time for me and I hope you enjoy as well.

What are your thoughts do you watch any Reality TV? Which ones do you like the most or least? Your input is important so I'd like to hear from you in the comment section or if you want you can even hit the contact tab above and email me. I always answer my emails from my blog unless it goes to spam and I miss it.

Thanks for the previous ride. I know it's a risk but what's life without taking risks?

10 Reasons I Like Fall the Most

With summer coming to a close this weekend provides many with that last big hooray. I know don't mistake me, I know summer doesn't officially end until September 22 which marks the first day of fall 2010 at 11:09 EST. The September equinox is also known as the Autumnal Equinox. It gets dark earlier but I'm not sure I like this part of Fall.

Ah now we are talking. The word Fall itself just resonates with me. In other words it strikes a chord in my soul. As much as I like spring and summer nothing peeks my interest in the change of seasons as much as Fall.

Things I like about it the most
  • Starts getting cooler
  • The beautiful colors of change
  • Smell of burning leaves
  • Bugs start to disappear
  • Brisk morning makes the coffee taste better
  • Festivities and different foods again
  • Begin to look forward to my favorite Holidays
  • I get to wear clothes (hold on I haven't been naked ALL summer)
  • Football Season is in full gear
  • Not too hot not too cool and cold
For many of folks in my neck of the woods this weekend also means the last big camping trip or family outing. With school beginning or for most has already begun it's time for ballgames in the coming weeks. Shopping for the Holidays will start to occur and making preparations to the home for the cooler months ahead. Many more things I'm sure I can think of or that I am leaving out. Both pro and con for the change of seasons ahead.

What is your take on the Fall or Autumn season? Please join by commenting or send to your friends on facebook and tweet about it if you'd like. To me it's just one of the most wonderful times of the year. Not that I'm judging God but He sure new what he was doing when he created the likes of Fall. Love it!
