Progress Not Perfection ~ New Design Coming Soon
Progress
Just a quick note of thanks to all the visitors who happen upon my blog. Your support has been graciously received as always. I started this blog on July 28th, 2009 without the slightest clue about a blog, traffic, promotion, social media, SEO, let alone html and the likes. I have to say that I have been pleased with my progress and hope that you have as well.
Not Perfection
You will not likely find much perfection here but if you continue to stick around, come back and visit,

Search Engine Ranking Factors 2009 ~ Have you Read It
Yesterday I came across a blog post referring to the Search Engine Ranking Factors 2009. It has some very interesting information in there from 72 SEO Experts who provided feedback to SEOmoz.org. Every 2 years SEOmoz surveys experts in the field from all over the world in an attempt to gather their opinions of the algorithmic elements that comprise search engine rankings. Each participant was asked to rate more than 100 search ranking factors along with specific questions about hot issues in the SEO field.
Although I believe that a lot of the information can make a world of difference in your rankings it still creates within me some curious thought. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Frolicking Friday ~/~ Let's Romp!
Remember I mentioned in the comment section of List of 10 Bloggers Who Have Given Me Unconditional Support that I would start a 'Frolicking Friday' post dedicated to some of the blogs that I enjoy visiting. Here are some of those blogs.
For a change of pace I wanted to do this type of post not only to offer exposure to some of my favorite sites but to offer some insight through these sites as to where I get some of my motivation. It should be noted that I may or may not agree with every post or every photo on these blogs. This however is the great thing about blogging. I hope you like them. If you'd like to be included in next 'Fridays Romp' please feel free to hit the kontacr button in the sidebar and email me. Otherwise retweet or send to your Facebook friends if you like and last but not least the most important leave us all a comment. Happy Romping!

Wish it Was Springtime Already ~~ Jus Sayin
What's so tedious about what you do today? Sometimes I get caught up in thinking that the daily actions in my life are tedious and if I'm not multi-tasking then I am not getting anything accomplished. Ever feel that way? I think it's just part of life isn't it. Who invented the microwave anyway. Where is that dude? That's who I blame it on. That guy should have to now come do my daily routine and see what it's like to have to get everything assembled at once.

What Do You Do to Stop That Hamster From Running All Day
I am a curious soul as stated in a previous post,"How did you end up where you're at today" so my mind is always on the go. I'm like that hamster you've seen constantly spinning his wired wheel. Turning over and over but sometimes I have to step off and give the wheel a break. Poor wheel.
Actually it's me who needs to remind myself to step back and "just give myself permission" to relax. To take it all in and not get overwhelmed in whatever task is at hand.
I've practiced meditation

"We call it Fun, But Hard Fun."
Bloggomaniac
Building a Blog can be fun and for a beginner very exciting. To put up a family photo for all the world to see or to have your name in lights can be attractive. Just a simple url with your thought out imagination, being able to click on it after putting it in a search engine seems fascinating for some. To make it last is the challenge. Nobody likes challenges more than me. Nobody I say. Bet that. Call me a bloggomaniac.
Think as in a Commodity
Plenty of people who deal in the financial exchange, raw materials and exploits of child labor would tend to see a blog as "what? You shouldn't call that a commodity!" I beg to differ. A commodity is something for which there is a demand.

Need Help! Speech Due By Noon - Any Ideas?

Impressive Attention Getters
Need Help - Speech Due by Noon - Any Ideas - is meant to be an attention getter. One of the things I always seem to be looking for is a way to get your attention and bring you by my blog. How I'm going to do this is to get your attention with a title that you can't refuse to click on. Something that not only is impressive but captures your attention. Clap my hands, Beat my Drum, Sing laa la laa la la in a Tweet or Facebook status, telling you I have what your looking for is easy. It's what I do after that that is important and just as critical if not more so. If I use an impressive attention getter and that's all there is, nothing afterwards, then soon you will either unfollow me, skip over me or delete me as a friend. That title will be worth nothing.
Connect With My Audience
I can come up with a huge list of attention getters,

List of 10 Bloggers Who Have Given Me Unconditional Support
As a newbie I have needed more than my fair share of guidance here in the beginning. And I have always been told that a closed mouth doesn't get fed. The Little Blog That Could
I wasn't born in the quiet small community that I was raised in and I was for years always missing where I call home. Nothing replaces the sweet smell of honeysuckle on a warm summers drive up and down the hills and around winding curves as my home does.
But I wouldn't trade nothing, absolutely nothing for the years I spent growing up in the small country town with a population of 275 people, and as they say," counting cats and dogs."

Kinda Makes You Want to Run Through The House With Scissors Don't It
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE ---1930s, '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked and or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then, after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets, and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps, not helmets, on our heads. As infants and children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.. Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

How Did You End Up Where You're at Today?
I am what you might call a curious soul. I wonder how people get to where they are in life. Were you influenced by your Mother/Father and family in general or is the direction you have taken been pretty much influenced by your peers. Perhaps it was by your surroundings and you had to choose your way in life by the opportunities available. Or maybe it was a teacher.

I Want Link Exchange Dammit Don't You
No doubt if your like me and you've only been blogging for just a few months attempting to build traffic and rankings, your looking for an easier softer way. We can get all sorts of advice from the probloggers and SEO's saying content, commenting, forums, on and on up to and mostly including "buy my ebook it's only $39.99." That's even higher than most infomercial products. Aren't they usually only $19.99 for everything. Just saying. I know all of these are important and I'm sure after a period of time you like me will reach a plateau to where your stuck and want to improve. The Search Engines say "Get Relevant Links To Your Website"
.
Furthermore I did a search on some probloggers' sites (to be fair not on all them) but a few and could not find much if anything about link exchange or link management. Maybe it's an ancient Chinese secret type of thing. We all know that even the worst to best advice they give will not include what's most beneficial to us. I mean even I might not give out a secret that's going to let you get one step ahead of me, right? OK I confess I would! I could only find ONE Patented Link Management Solution on the Internet. Letter For You, I Don't Care: Are We Fighting a War on Terror or Aren't We!
Thought you might like to read this letter ~ ever notice how some people just seem to know how to write a letter?. This one sure does! This was written by a Canadian woman, but oh how it also applies to the U.S ., U.K. and Australia. THIS ONE PACKS A FIRM PUNCH. Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!
Written by a housewife in New Brunswick , to her local newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.
'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?
Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?
Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan .
I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:
I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:
I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:
I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it,
I don't care!!
If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!
If you don't agree, then by all means stay away from my blog. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:
'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't have that problem.'
I have another quote that I would like to add, AND.......I hope you forward all this.
One last thought for the day:
Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The British Soldier.
3. The Canadian Soldier.
4. The US Soldier, and
5. The Australian Soldier
One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom..
YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET ALL OF THEM

I learn From Dolly Parton But I Need Your Tips Too
I have always been a fan of this iconic figure in the music and entertainment business. The phenomenon of Dolly Parton has flourished for more than 5 decades. I love her song from 1974, "I Will Always Love You" among many others. No this is not a cheesy Dolly post. It's more about how she built her brand and remains loyal to her fans. With her cartoon character look she loves to have 'fun'!
Having grew up in the impoverished hills of East Tennessee, the fourth of twelve children, her family struggled to make ends meet. This became her foundation, a hard rural life. She began singing at a very early age and after moving to Nashville the day after her high school graduation she never really looked back. "I've always been a writer. My songs are the door to every dream I've ever had and every success I've ever achieved," says Dolly Parton
What strikes me the most is that she has never abused her talent of writing. She has never appeared to have made an enemy and last but not least she never forgot where she came from. All the while giving back to her community by building her very own theme park Dollywood in her old neighborhood so her friends, family, neighbors and even strangers had an income.
Did you know that several years ago an entertainer in the music business had a major car accident and couldn't perform for a few years. Dolly gave her a million dollars just to help her out. She even asked if she could be her opening act her first concert back. Hell Dolly was an opening act, she didn't need to open for anyone, but she did because that's who she is. (if I ever get sick or in an accident will you keep my blog going and up to date) Just saying. OK so we're not that close yet, hopefully someday we will be.
Now I don't have a million dollars to give you but I do hope you have someone who's helping you build your brand. Someone who you look up too for that inspiration when it's very much needed. I use her inspiration to help me realize I can succeed in whatever it is that I choose as my dream. I'm nowhere close to her as I know I've made some enemies along the way and rightly so I probably deserve some of them. What I don't deserve is all my friends I have. Dolly's brand is not her 'boobs' it's her kindness, her generosity in giving and her never swaying from her dreams. Her steadfast ability to conquer her fears by always believing in herself. Her aggressive nature to reach her goals in a seemingly passive way and being happy by doing what she loves. Being happy by doing what she loves. I had to repeat that.
This blog has taken a few turns in trying to find it's niche but I feel like I am finally going in the right direction by allowing myself to be me and not trying to emulate. Dolly believes in by giving you get back in return. I know this as being very important. At least for me. I look back on my life from the hills of Kentucky to where I am today and I know that by taking inventory of my failures and successes, my successes have always came from giving it away and my failures have almost always been preceded by my selfishness. I'm not saying I won't ever try to sell you something but it won't be a lemon from a used car salesman that's for sure.
Here are some of the tips I use and would like to pass on. Nothing new for the most of you I'm sure but they're something I'm trying to blog by.

- Believe in yourself -- Have faith in your abilities
- Ask for help -- you'll be surprised with who out there wants to help
- Be humble -- I've had to eat humble pie before and will again I'm sure
- Most IMPORTANTLY if your not happy do it the way it makes you HAPPY

Lights Camera a lot Less Action from NetFlix
I was reading over on Mashable that Netflix was making some interesting changes. According to Jennifer Van Grove it's a sad time for netflix customers. "Now should you wish to rent a Warner Bros. flick you’ll have to wait out a 28-day holding period after the film’s initial DVD release date." she says. What I find most interesting after reading their blog post on Mashable is that when I go to Netflix they have nothing to say about it on their own blog. Hmmm imagine that.
Why does this alarm me you might say? Well for quite some time we've been a very loyal member of netflix and have received many many movies from them. Quite a few I might add. Since June of 2007 we've rented nearly 400 movies from them and had only 4 reported damaged movies arriving at the house. Their customer service has been more than professional for us and when we did have these reported incidents they always replaced them with prompt service and attention. Usually providing us with an extra rental.
I hope she is not so right in that this is the end of an era where new releases are a thing of the past. Warner Bros. is being pretty greedy it seems but netflix is as much part of it as well. Actually I would put the blame on them more so than Warner Bros. as they had to agree with the partnership rooted in money. Shame on you Netflix! Little RedBox beware Movie Lovers on their way.

Some call it an underwhelming unveiling by HP and that likely it wasn't nothing more than a fake punt attempt to try to score one on Apple. Especially since it's also rumored that Apple will tell us more about their new Tablet PC on January 27th. Others picked up on this by the prior rental and reserved space at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco for Jan. 26
Who needs a giant iPhone anyway? Apparently more, much more than 10 million buyers. 10 Million being the targeted shipping numbers for the Apple device over the first year of release according to eWeek and an Ex- Google Exec.
Apple iSlate..possibly?

Nexus One Google Phone ~~ Yada Yada Yada..
Here’s a video of setting up Nexus One. My Question is, "What's up with the 3D junk? It never worked years ago, what's going make it fly now?" I seen a plug for 3D on ESPN yesterday too, but not for the Nexus One. They were telling me and you to get our glasses out of the time capsule (so I say) because soon they'll have their very own ESPN 3D channel.. WTH.......... What am I missing with this 3D stuff?
Says Nexus One is thin, feels good in your hand, power to bring 3D graphic experience to life. Excited about partnership with Google. Says it pushes the limits of what’s possible on a mobile phone today. Hey, if we can make actual phone calls and do smartphone/superphone stuff, that would be an achievement.

Authorized by Apple the New L5 Remote Debuts at CES 2010 in Vegas
Yesterday L5 Technology introduced an accessory and free app that will turn any iPhone or iPod touch into a universal remote control. It was launched at ShowStoppers @ CES, the L5 Remote provides us with a powerful alternative for replacing multiple and often-confusing remote control devices. The L5 Remote transforms the iPhone and iPod touch into a personal universal remote that controls televisions, DVDs, DVRs, cable boxes, audio equipment, and most other products that come with an infrared remote.
This reminded me of something that a friend of mine was asked by her children not all too long ago. Apparently she was searching for the remote so she could obviously change the channel on TV. The remote was no where to be found and this became frustrating to all involved. But the part that got me to thinking was what one of her boys asked. He says, "Mom what did you guys use to do when you were a kid? I mean how did you change the TV when you lost the remote?" She responded with, "we got off our ass walked up to the TV and changed it. We didn't have remotes." So true to the advancement of technology in that kids today had to go out an play instead of locked away in there room. And we had to get up off our asses to change to the tube.
Not anymore and in fact you won't have to get up to change anything if your less than the purported 30 feet. As this is how far this new remote is suppose to reach. Matter of fact you can change the TV in a bar or club, at a friends house or where ever assuming you take your iphone or ipod with you. Ha, I can see the fun starting already. I find it almost as interesting as not having to go to the outhouse to take a dump anymore.
This remote will make us even lazier than we already are. The product can control thousands of devices, including TVs, cable boxes, stereos, DVD players, ceiling fans, air conditioners, and many other products. The L5 Remote is priced at MSRP $49.95 and will be available for purchase in February from the L5 Technology website and retailers nationwide.

Wanna Be a Geek Girl Go to Geek Girl Camp
Yeah that's right, Geek Girl Camp. A place for women of all ages, moms, grandmas, sisters, business owners, teachers, lawyers, consultants, entrepreneurs and more. Whatever it is you call yourself or aim to be if it has to do with wanting to know more about technology the geek girls camp say they can help. From the beginners, to intermediate and advanced -- the value of their workshops are taking on a new meaning. Their Mission: to educate and empower every girl and woman at every age level, on every skill level, at every income level on computer technology with fun and provide a legacy by giving back and paying it forward.
I have had plenty of experience with workshops in the past, mainly in the self-help field, so I can assure you of the benefits of attending such events. Not only for the knowledge of what's being taught but for the social interaction as well. I have made several friends from workshops and always look forward to attending to keep up to date on the latest. Although I can't or won't be attending any of theirs, as I am not of the gender, I have a little more hope that you'll now have a 'box of budgies' to know it's available for you. If you want to know more pop on over to their page at GeekGirl. I also found a cute video on youtube that you might like.
(update from an email I received from Leslie says:
"BTW, we would never not allow a guy in, we just named it this way because there was not a lot of women attending tech events and barely any female speakers.
We would always allow men in if they chose to register and come!")
