Don't Fear Success with Lack of Courage ~ Share Your Goals

Fear is a lack of courage. Short and sweet, let me say it again. Fear is a lack of courage.

Sharing My Goals

So far I'm somewhat pleased with this blogs progress. I recognize this, and I am NOT pleased but I know I can do much better. Believe it or not my style and content can and will improve. I recently published a post about Blog Goals and improving your blogs success by setting clear goals.
One of the mistakes you make as a blogger, as an individual is allowing your fear of success to control the outcome of your failures. Yes I said that correctly. (read slowly if needed) Most of the time we can see the outcomes to life's goals as failures. We set ourselves up for it by seeing it just like that, a failure. You don't always see success when looking at things realistically, but you can always see how you'll fail. This is where you go astray and don't take risks. Now let me help you out by doing a little more explaining and defining each.

Fear is a Lack of Courage

Fear of success is lack of courage. Then there's obstacles. Those things that we use as an excuse for our fear which keep us from our goals being reached.  While having courage means to take risks, using obstacles means your using frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals. Short and sweet. If you want to fail don't take risks, lack the courage to succeed. Take your eyes off your goals by looking at the obstacles in your way. You can set yourself up for failure by using fear. It's a powerful, powerful emotion. Having courage does not take away or remove the absence of fear. Rather having courage gives you the ability to take action in spite of fear. "Oh the times I was scared yet took a risk and found success."

Don't Fear Success

Success can be defined in many different ways depending on what your goals are. Having a successful blog or website is not as easy to achieve today as it was 10 years ago. Maybe you already have a successful marriage, a successful social life and you've even achieved success with your business and career. Those are are successes. Hell even having a fruitful garden is a success. Having a successful blog or business career on the Internet today can be fearful, hard to achieve and it takes the ability to overcome obstacles. It takes hard work and nothing is guaranteed. You must take action.

How do I take Action

I'm not sure about you but I'm taking action by setting clear goals. By taking risks. Not only risking to once in while piss off my readers but also the risks to help them succeed as well. I like to have fun along the way. If your action is different please share with us how. I'm not seeing obstacles. I'm seeing reachable achievements that are realistic. I stated in the above paragraph how hard it is today to be successful online. Notice I didn't mention it as providing me and mine as a financial success. Of course that is a long term goal. It can't be achieved without first being realistic and setting short term and long term reachable goals first.

Here's How I Begin

Sometimes I look at it like this. You made the team now you want to play. Just being a member of the team is not your goal. You want to play and win and go to the playoffs. Your goal is to win the Championship. So here's how you begin. Share your goals. Put them down on paper or blog/website. Be a Champion!
  • Breath Life Into Them
  • Realize Goals provide Focus
  • Develop Habits
  • Overcome Obstacles
  • Share Them
I haven't exactly shared this blogs goals publicly yet, I have begun to put them into action. The obstacles. What obstacles? There are no obstacles. I choose (notice choice here) not to see the obstacles. They will be there and this is realistic. I can and will overcome them. Be they time management, down times, lack of motivation, peer pressure or fear of success, I can and will overcome these. I'm working hard and diligently on a post sharing my goals. It's not that I am fearful of sharing them, it's that I know they will be set in stone. They will give you something to focus on. They will be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and have a time frame. And last but not least they will be smoking! And show you how to achieve success.

Just a reminder, Appreciate your down days as they should provide you with motivation. We all have them. What do you think? Please leave a comment if you got something out of this or RT/Facebook it. Or even better yet follow via the RSS feed and see what my goals are. I think you'll be inspired. At least that's one of the goals. Otherwise get a life and go feed your dog. (Just kidding, had to be me somewhere least you forget)
