Blogging Skills: To Risk is To Journey -- Day 4

“Knowing that the journey takes small steps as well as huge leaps – and they all are important” – John Lee
What kind of a blogging journey are you on? Have you taken any risks? Not just the risk to put up a post, but maybe a risk with that post to per-chance to:
  • Piss off your readers
  • Get your facts wrong
  • Create a backlash
  • Be different
  • Be vulnerable
  • Invade privacy towards defamation
Risking it with Social Media Outlets

A huge sign of what it means to live in interesting times is for us to take a look at Social Media. In short it is the use of today's [one to many] to [many of many] as Wikipedia likes to define, along with a whole bunch of other input. One of the things they say is that it is "believed to be a driving factor in the idea that the current period in time will be defined as the Attention Age". Wow! I say don't even try to read all they say about social media if your not ready for some deep thought. What you and I know as bloggers is that we can reach many from one [I] to [you] to [others] and with taking risks providing good content the boundaries are unlimited. But in doing so you take risks. And some of the risk are stated above, but by all means it's not all of them. Please share some more in comments if you would in regards to your risks.

What Kind of risk do you take to build Traffic

To build traffic, you bring readers from other sites back to your home base and offer them incentive to return again and again via the value you provide there. Why do you do that? If your a serious blogger and motivated to build traffic for your incentive based blog then you take a huge risk. Risk in using your social connections by providing value to what you attract them with. In other words the content you provide must be a risk taking adventure for you. Ask yourself who's gonna see it and want to share it with the other many you hope to attract? Every time I blog I am risking. Risking that someone somewhere will see what I have to say and find some value in it. Whether I use humor, personal insight, or if I'm not careful I use anger and piss you off (not that I care sometimes) I am reaching out to you to fulfill a need. Maslow's hierarchy of needs  tells us that we have a social need. The need to be recognized as a human, to be accepted, to love and be loved and as a blogger you can get some of these needs met. Just spend the day roaming the social media. Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Myspace, and others and see the risk people are taking just to have some needs met. Is there anything wrong with that? Not in my perspective. At least if it's not becoming an addiction. Whoa a whole new topic there Twaceples. But in short aren't you taking a risk in building traffic? I encourage you to learn about these social media outlets to drive your need of supporting your blog. I will expand on them more in the ways they are an incentive to me and why I use them in upcoming post.

We must know our Facts

On one of my other blogs I received a comment about the accuracy of the facts. It was from an anonymous reader who was clearly upset that what I had to say was not the way he wanted to hear it. So in other words I was 'being different'. He even thought that I was working for the company that I posted about. I let him know I only wished. But I tell you that to let you know I made a mistake. It was quite little in comparison to his rant but never the less it was a mistake. So I corrected it and forgot about it. What if that had been the company who saw it and didn't think it was a 'little' error? Well that's the risk we take if we don't research and get our [facts] right isn't it. It clearly made me think is this for me? Only for a split second as I enjoy what I do and I enjoy the rewards that taking risks brings me. Though sometimes painful and possibly humiliating it's the chance we take in being [vulnerable] blogging. And the rewards of the risk have far out weighed the rewards of no risk at all.

Risk to Maximize

Maximize your potential but don't do so at the expense of others. Don't put yourself in a situation of possible defamation. Get your facts right and be willing to take a risk and let readers know that it is your opinion, your thoughts or your review without creating a backlash. Sometimes this may be difficult to do as stated earlier. Your just not going to always get your facts right, your not always going to please every reader and most certainly not everyone thinks like you. So be willing to risk that what you say can and at times will be taken differently than you expected.

Risk content is King

Clearly, the risks around time, energy, creativity, authenticity, and vulnerability are important issues. The rewards however that blogging provides for you and your readers can be priceless. So many probloggers continue to stress the importance of  'content'. A unique point of view as well as new and edgy content is what it takes for a blog to thrive and grow. Keeping a blog on the cutting edge leads to another concern about time consumption, as blogs will not become successful overnight and take much work and dedication. Assessing your purpose and providing a unique risk taking point of view are essential in creating a successful blog.

Blogs, in one form or another, have arguably become the most important marketing, public relations and advertising platform available on the Internet. Another sign of what it means to live in interesting times.

Whatcha mean it's monday?

Don't Tweet Your Site Link If Your ...

Don't tweet your site link on Twitter if your just driving traffic to your site for the sake of numbers.

How many times have you clicked on a link and thoroughly read the post of that tweeted link and it didn't really say anything? Unless your single, in your favorite club or at a nudist camp, no one wants to be hung. Often I've clicked on links thinking I am going to get this great message about how to grow traffic to my website or blog, increase my twitter followers or improve my rankings only to be left with WTF was that about anyway.

In most all of these links from: @Iamyournumber1answertoyoursuccess I find at least one or two good little bites of info that usually leaves me wanting more yet still pisses me off. Most of these impostor posters truly want to succeed and get you to come back again and again but do they? If not why? I know why I return to my favorite blogs/websites and it is always because I got pumped. Believe me I am not hung. And I don't need your help hanging me. I'm perfectly satisfied with what I got. There are times when I would like to have a little more and not be pissed or dissatisfied. No more quickies OK?

However I am learning a great deal from these folks and most importantly, I'm learning what not to do by following some of their suggestions. If your going to put me up a tree and throw stones at me at least get me down. In other words have a topic with a beginning, share the problem and give a solution.

If your an aspiring writer or blogger it doesn't matter, you must have a passion for what your writing about. You must have patience and grab the reader by the [balls] but you also need to find the solution and let go. Let me go, get me down and stop leaving me screaming and hanging dammit!

Sponsored Conversations: Hire Bloggers Get Real Results

In taking the opportunities to share with my readers who are a valuable asset to this blogs community, I would also like to share with potential advertisers who are searching for a great way to create sponsored conversations.
Sponsored Conversation is a great social media marketing technique created by IZEA in 2006, making them the World Leader in sponsored conversations. Simply put it's an agreement between the advertiser and the blogger in which material or financial compensation is exchanged for getting the word out about your brand, product, or service by sharing openly and honestly on their website or their blog.

Using sponsored conversations through IZEA and it's diverse group of over 1/4 million bloggers you will have the benefit of reaching an unlimited amount of potential customers for your product or services at a relatively low cost. Your customers trust you and IZEA wants to keep it that way. With their full site disclosure policy you can rest assured that it's being done ethically.

Currently they are offering a FREE independent report from Forrester Reach on their site. Take advantage of this and other opportunities to get out there and get noticed by millions of readers through the social media market place that is forever expanding.

Improving Blogging Skills: Taking Risks Day 3

"A ship in harbor is safe – but that is not what ships are for." ~ John A. Shedd

In previous post about taking risks I've encouraged you to be you and take healthy risks. If you have followed these post then you know that a snake has to shed his skin in order to grow. You must take action instead of reacting. The shining memories will be the times when you took a leap of faith, whether you won or not and you did so by taking action. Are you a dreamer or an achiever? Which do you spend the most time doing? Those who achieve must get outside of their comfort zone and doing this involves taking a risk. It involves taking action.
I'm reminded of a risk I took some years back involving a career move. Actually a huge career move. I had reached a place in my job where I was going to have to settle in for the long haul before any kind of advancement would allow me to achieve some inner success or I was going to have to act. In some ways I was like a snake ready to shed the skin and grow. Oh I had been dreaming of a larger income and  I had these grandiose ideas of saving the world one soul at a time. However I had also made several good friends, enjoyed my co-workers and the customers I saw on a regular basis and was scared shitless to make a change. For me to make that change in my life involved a risk. Folks don't let me trick you into thinking it's always easy either. I gave a 2 week notice and eventually said my goodbyes hoping like hell this was not the biggest mistake I had ever made in life. To make a longer story shorter I'll just tell you it worked out and in a way that I could not have imagined. So well that after 6 yrs. I repeated the same type of career move changing jobs again and I tripled my salary. In other words I learned from the previous experience that taking a risk wasn't so bad after all. Just don't forget to think it through. Not all risk are healthy and not all risk have positive outcomes. I can assure you of this too. But that's another post on another day if I so choose to share the risk that led me to some pain and disappointments.

Life is about change, change creates growth and growth can be painful. Taking a risk involves making things happen instead of sitting back waiting for them to happen. Risk allows you to grow and discover new things about yourself and the world, to develop your strengths and talents. I read others' blogs and sometimes they seem so cheerful. Like they never had a care in the blogging world so to speak. I mean do these people ever have days when their like, "what in the hell am I doing this for?" Do they not ever get interrupted and get upset about anything? I have to tell you that I have found some of these to be great blogs. Blogs that I go back to just to see what they are going to do or say next. I've often wondered if what they write comes down like rain or flows like the Mississippi? Do they have days when it's time to take a risk and a leap of faith? Perhaps they research and are they experiencing the sense of taking a risk? Sure they are. Would you publish what they write? Would you share it with the whole world? I'm not sure I would. But I have learned that I'm also not sure I wouldn't. I enjoy taking risk. Especially when the results are positive. I don't always enjoy the painful side of growth however. These experiences both good and not so good are the experiences that I can reflect back on and gain the courage to again take a risk when I am in doubt. I want to promote courage, inner strength and determination. Blogging takes on all of these. I've found that in order to be successful I must have all three. And I must be motivated for without the motivation there is no success. Without setting goals and challenging ones self  to reach those goals you will fail. And for me to fail in life in areas I know I can be happy in is unacceptable.

"In order to learn to live happily and free one must first learn to make sacrifices, and those sacrifices aren't always easy."

In her audiotape, "Instant Guts!"  , Joan Gale Frank says, "Even though you can come up with a dozen good excuses for why you shouldn't take a risk, there's one great big reason why you should. And that is, until you do, your heart is going to hunger. If you don't take risks, you'll never feel quite complete. Right up until the day your story ends.

Another great read is a post by Blogging Bistro  where Laura Christianson shares how some peoples reluctance at taking risk with blogging boils down to the following.

They jump into blogging without thinking through:

■ why they want to blog

■ who they hope to reach

■ how blogging will impact their schedule

■ how their blog will make a difference in the lives of time-strapped readers

If you’re wondering whether you should start blogging, take the time to do some strategic planning.

Here is an excerpt from a poem I found. It's author is unknown:

To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure
But to risk we must, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing is one who does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrows, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow, or love.
Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave - he has forfeited his freedom.
Only a person who takes risks is FREE

Let's Go Dancing: It's On!

Oh my goodness do I have to? That was my response to my better half when she asked or slightly demanded I go dancing. Well OK it was more like, "what? You want us to do what?" "Go dancing," she says, "dancing." I have not been dancing in years other than around the bedroom after a good showering. And believe me you don't want to see that. Sorry for the visualization you just had to endure. I know you liked it though. Want me to do it again? OK I won't I promise. I will tell you about the great site I found that has over 1100 different Dance Shoes  and accessories that will make your night out more comfortable for the Holiday dance party you may now want to attend.

Having searched and searched for dance shoes needed for what we would hope to be the most comfortable and fun night out with the friends and co-workers, I think we finally found what we need to make that happen. With Free Shipping both ways!, a 365 day return policy that is practically unheard of and customer support 24/7, I feel we can't go wrong. I found these dance shoes modern for today's wear, budget friendly and with the great customer reviews we are ready to "go do a jig or two!"

Here is the pair I think I will go with. I know mine are Hip Hop by Puma  but after a few margarita's and a squeeze of lime, I believe I'll be hoping as well as dancing. And I like that the Video Description clearly difines the dance shoe.

Here is the pair the Misses is going with. They are the Ryka Studio D and she was sold on the Video Description as well. Believe me she loves to dance and will not need the Margarita's to enhance her moves.

From the newest to the most popular, from modern to ballet and like us for a night out on the town, you will find many brands and styles for you, your dance partner and even your kids at Zappos dance-shoes.

Improving Blogging Skills: Taking Risks Day 2

I want to expand on the benefits of healthy risk taking for bloggers and in life. I believe that if your a serious blogger and want to improve your blog then you need to improve your blogging skills. And in order to do this you will need to begin to take some risks.

When I think of Risk Taking I think of myself as a seven year old. When I was seven my Aunt took me downtown to register for the Pee Wee Baseball team . I didn't know anything about baseball other than playing catch in the backyard. I did know about fear though. I was scared to death to play on an organized team in front of a crowd. And even more scared of failing. I was only seven and you were required to be eight yrs. old to play on the pee wee league back then. Wooo, I was safe I wouldn't have to play. Not! My Aunt was able to convince them to sign me anyway. So now I'm committed, I have to play. I don't remember much about how well I did or didn't play that summer but we won the trophy as champs. And I remember being the pitcher at least a time or two. So it didn't turn out too bad after all.

The bloggers having the most success at blogging are the risk takers. For some it comes easy and for others it takes time. I'm learning that it's very important to do more than just write. I need to get outside of my blog and research. I need to listen to the repetition of what's working for those succeeding and apply them to my efforts. Some of the risks I've taken lately have given me courage to be a little more consistent in what I write about. I write two other blogs and starting a fourth and will eventually let two go by the way side in order to assure that the ones I decide to keep will be productive.

Susan Gunelius  Susan spent over a decade managing marketing programs for some of the largest companies in the world, including divisions of AT&T and HSBC. Her marketing background led her to transition to a business writing career which has included many books. One of which I am looking forward to, Blogging All-in-One for Dummies, comes out sometime in 2010. Susan discusses taking risk and the importance thereof in her article Start a blog - Top 10 Tips for Beginner Bloggers to Start a Blog. She also discusses other tips of importance in that article. What stands out for me in her risk taking tip is not falling prey to every new bell or whistle that becomes available for your blog. In other words don't add a widget if it doesn't work to benefit you and your blog and most importantly your blogs audience. But don't be afraid to try new things. Change your theme, background, colors and if your running ads make sure if you want success with them, target your audience.(these things I need work on I know)

Risk the strength to write in my style. Over in Buzzle.com  Deanna Mascle says, "Developing an individual writing process is key to your development and success as a writer." This lady has become one of my favorite teachers in my writing process. You can learn more about her by visiting her own personal site Deanna Mascle, and a little bit of her goes along way. By taking advantage of my own skills instead of attempting to use yours is helping me to develop as an individual. I've always wanted to write. I've always known I could. I just haven't always listened to others in the process and in doing so I have not necessarily failed, I've just not succeeded because I haven't taken the risks to be me. One of my favorite quotes that I have embedded up there in lah lah land is, "Know one knows what you want in this life but you and if you want to succeed you have to do what's right for you." (sorry can't remember who said it but haven't forgot the quote) So get out there, research, take risks and be YOU. Your blog will improve.

Improving Blogging Skills: Taking Risks Day 1

Remember the first time that you created a blog post? I do. No I don't remember the first time you created one, I remember the first time I tried to come up with something. I think it went something like this:-- testing, testing, this blog is about quotes my father used to say and is what you might call under construction. Please come back and visit.-- That's pretty much how it went in the beginning. Now that felt a little strange putting something out there with the chance that the whole world might see it. The thing is I don't think anyone saw it other than me and maybe my brother who I encouraged to " look at my blog, look at my blog." His response wasn't too overwhelming needless to say. I thought to my self, I don't care it's mine and it'll get better.

The most fantastic thing about it is that I took a risk. I discovered years ago that life is about risk taking. I counseled people for a number of years and challenged them to do at least one thing each day that they didn't want to do. To take a risk and do it because they knew it was healthy for them. I saw a lot of fears conquered with that exercise. And I saw a lot of people grow in their personal lives by the challenge. Little did I know that I would need reminded of this in my own personal journey towards marketing a blog.

One person who has had influence on me lately in taking risks to build a better blog, gain confidence in my writing and publishing skills is Brian Clark. Brian founded Copyblogger.com  in January 2006. I won't go into all of his many accomplishments, but I do encourage you to head on over and see them for yourself in his about section. There is a nice piece of content written on the The 7 Harsh Realities of Social Media Marketing by Sonia Simone on that blog. One of the realities that sticks out for me and one I will expand on later because it has worked in other areas of my life is, "keeping what you have by giving it away." I too want to add that if you don't think that it is important for you as a blogger to read some of the content on Copyblogger then you are not wanting to improve your blog or you just don't need to. For example, when I began to write this post I noticed that it had a retweet widget at the end and was showing to have retweeted 1493 times. I am amazed to say that only a short time later it has now been retweeted 1507, oops make that 1510 times. I think I need a retweet widget on my post footer. Just saying maybe I should take that risk.

The biggest and most important risk I have taken lately is not allowing myself to be influenced by what you might think of my post. But to be influenced by what some of these probloggers are saying and go with it. If I am so afraid that I will fail that I never take healthy risks then I will never succeed. I encourage you to write, write, write and ask, ask, ask. Don't be afraid to write and don't be afraid to ask. These probloggers didn't gain success by letting their fears become a brick wall. Their continually throwing grenades and making a huge splash by taking risk everyday with success coming their way. All the while enjoying what they are doing because of the self-esteem they've gained by taking risk and giving it away. Did it happen overnight? I haven't read ones overnight successes but maybe he/she is out there. It's there for the taking. Take some, give some back!

Blogging Skills: Giving It Away To Keep It

I wanted to let you know that in the next several weeks I will be doing  posts about the "The Most Interesting People Who Have Influenced Me Lately." There have been some really knowledgeable people whom deserve credit for paying it forward across this great divide of blogging. It will include some of the most influential people on the web in regards to blogging/writing/social marketing to skills of networking and improving your blog. I think you will find it interesting and valuable, with information to help you in blogging and marketing yourself using those that influence you the most. I'm sure you look at my blogs and say wow I don't want to be influenced by his peers! I want you to know that that is the main reason I am going to do the post. I have finally begun to build relationships through my efforts and slowly they are paying off. Not necessarily monetary but in learning to build and improve my blogging skills by conquering my fears and using what's out there instead of just reading it and putting it aside. This blog is slowly going to become a blog geared toward "paying it forward." So I hope you come back and take a look and more importantly, I hope you can use some of what I have to say.

When You Get Blogger's Block: Find Your Niche

Make lemonade...Just Saying!
Sometimes you just have to give yourself a break, lighten up, squeeze the juice and drink it all in. I had a post in draft that I was going to put up today and it just didn't fit my thoughts. Now that's kinda [skerry] putting it that way. If you only knew what goes on up there. Anyhow before I start to ramble on about how my blogger's block has engulfed my inner being I wanted to share some of my tips for making it work for you.

“Brick walls are there for a reason, they let us prove how badly we want something.“ Randy Pausch

First of all what is your blogging purpose? Does it have a purpose? How badly do you want something? If your just blogging to put your thoughts on the Internet for you and whoever stops by or by chance stumbles upon your blog then that's OK. If it's working for you then your probably not much interested in continuing to read on. So thanks for stopping in and come back when you can stay longer next time. Seriously though why are you reading my blog?
And that brings me to those who are serious about blogging. Does what you blog about or post about whether it be photo images, video's or your inner ramblings have a theme that fits your niche? In ecology, a niche ( or ) is a term describing the relational position of a species or population in its ecosystem to each other; e.g. a dolphin will be in another ecological niche to one that travels in a different school. A shorthand definition of niche is how an organism makes a living.
I'm not sure I have found my niche yet. Take a look at some of my previous post and you will see that they are like the dolphin without his niche, well traveled from one school to the next looking for a class room to swim in.
The later definition of the niche-- is how an organism makes a living.-- I do know that if your attempting to make a living as a blogger and your just getting your feet wet then the water is going to feel cold at first. Some of you are probably saying, "will it ever warm up?" Only you can answer this by finding your niche.
There are so so many Professional blogger's out there that I can only read so much of. I have gained some valuable knowledge from a few. One I particularly like is glblguy (gather little by little)  who so inspires me when I feel alone at this. Another is The Skool of Life. I sometimes find myself reading the same thing over and over on many sites and in doing so taking up my time. I See the same comments from visitors who say how much this article or that article just helped them. Then they go back to doing the dolphin dance. It's repetitive for a reason. It works. But you have to make it work not just continually read it. Oh don't get me wrong dolphins are some of the coolest creatures in the sea. As matter fact a dolphin is widely distributed in warm seas (especially around Hawaii). Now that's a nice thought. Hawaii, warm seas, hey it's heating up the water doesn't seem so cold anymore.
Imagine you've blogged your way to Hawaii! But how did you get there? It's because you stopped trying to be the blogger your not and became the blogger you are. I have a few very important people whom I use for inspiration. Jimmy Valvano is one of my favorite motivators. This guy could tell you how many seconds there is in a day (86,400) and then tell you it's up to you to decide how to use them. One of His famous quotes, "Don't give up..Don't Ever Give Up," is used by many. So that's where I'll leave it for today. I ask you where are you in life, in your world of blogging? Are you too concerned about failing that you'll never attempt to succeed? Are you so afraid of success that you always fail? I don't have all the answers. I do know that I will never give up! Slam me Bam me thank me and leave if you want I really don't care. I'll find my niche and when I do, there will be a postcard in the mail from the warm seas of Hawaii, and until then I'll just keep Making Lemonade. And if you don't find yours eventually you'll  just come and go like the seasons.
I thought it would be nice if I put Jimmy V's Espy Speech up here so some of you who may not know who he is could listen to it. Or maybe someone who has heard it will gain from listening again. It's not a requirement. Don't feel obligated. I usually shed a tear or get emotional each time I watch it. But most of all it just plain inspires me to be me and never attempt to be the someone else I am not.

Hump Day Humor ....Definitions #2

I found a few definitons that people posted online or maybe you like the questions by the asker better! I know that I found some of these somewhat hilarious and hope you do too. Please leave me your definiton or funnies about your Hump Day in the comment section. Or if your just a spammer come back the second Tuesday of next week and spam me all you want. Only real dopes are allowed!

Here's what PJ ask in yahoo answers and some of the responses he/she got.
Q.  What is the definition of "Hump Day?" I need the definition of Hump day

A. Andie said:  Hump day is Wednesday. It is called this because it it in the middle of the work/school week and it is downhill from there.

Why are you asking in the dog section? (that's when I noticed that PJ had posed the questions in the section of  Home>Pets>Dogs)

Another responder also answered and ended with the same similar response.

A. Barb:  Hump day has nothing to do with dogs, it's the "Hump" of the work week, meaning on Wednesday you're getting over the hump of working.

A. Bobbie L.: And what does HUMP day have to do with dogs?

You tell me. What does it have to do with dogs? ...Just sayin

Saint Monday

Saint Monday is the tradition of absenteeism on a Monday. Saint Tuesday is the less common extension of this to a Tuesday. So does this mean I have not only felt guilty about not showing up on Monday but could have missed Tuesday also? WTF!
How come no one ever told me this before? Now I'm really pissed! Previously all those Mondays where I stressed out about not being able to make it to work for reasons I need not share here, where all for naught.

What a disappointment I'm experiencing right now. I have emotional scars, deep embedded that were caused by this. My employer needs to take those Shizzle marks off my performance record and give me a raise for such a discovery. Ya think? And that's the first thing I'm requesting Wednesday when my extra long weekend is over. I mean it says I can miss Tuesday and call it Saint Tuesday, which it is just a lessor extension but as common.

Now I can go back to bed and dream about the saints all the while thanking them for allowing me to be able to do this without the least bit of guilt. Ferris Bueller your my hero!

BLACK FRIDAY

November the 7th, which is tomorrow will in my opinion officially kick off black Friday. Although Sears began offering sales on certain items on October 30th, last Friday, they will continue to do so each week until Christmas. And if that's not enough you can pre-order online to reserve your most precious gift.

One only wondered how long it would take for Black Friday to become Black Friday's? Or in this case Silly Saturday's. Looks like some stores are cooking up early bargains this year to boost sales and get a jump on the competition. Walmart being one of them. So fill up your thermos, grab a donut and pack some diapers for the kid as you get ready to face the possible cold and madness early this year. And remember to count to 10 when the person behind you reaches around and grabs away the item you've waited so patiently to retrieve right out of your grasp. Doing so without giving it a second thought. As a matter of fact they probably had it planned that way if that's what they had to do to get it. Sad and sometimes comical it's amazing some of the stories I've heard and or experienced regarding the folks who coined the term, "door busters."

Not all of us are able to do it  but we all want to get our shopping done earlier every year and swear on Christmas Eve that, "next year I ain't doing this. I'm going to have this done by now. I ain't fighting these last minute crowds and having to buy something because you ran out of fruit cakes again." OK so it wasn't the fruit cake you were after but you get my drift.

So in some ways maybe this isn't such a bad idea after all. Maybe some of the craziness we have come to know as Black Friday won't be so door busting since Silly Saturday will help pace the sales over more time instead of just one day. This way if you still have a belly full of gut busting turkey and trimmings the day after Thanksgiving...you can sleep in and continue to let it slowly burn off instead of shaking in the cold or getting your blood pressure to the boiling point.

I'd like to hear some of your Black Friday stories whether they be horror stories, funny stories or just good ole bargains you got from your experiences. Maybe you don't do your shopping on that day and would like to share why. Feel free to leave a comment.

Twitter Thursday...What are People saying on Twitter the Twits!

Today we're going to go take a look at Twitter and see what kind of Knucklehead things are being said on there. Check out some of these. This is just a small measure of some social vibe that takes place. Some of the names are real people and some are not. You decide when it comes to some you may know. This is just a few and it doesn't really describe twitters' real Shizzle. I plan on adding more to it later on this evening when the chatter really picks up and the craziness begins.

Is It That Time Again? "Hump Day Humour Definitions" #1

Today we are going to attempt to get over the ever dreaded Hump Day by handing out some definitions that I came up with or showed up anonymously and will remain that way. If you defined one of these then I thank you from the peak of my hump!

hump day: the middle of the work week; used to get over that hill so you can see the weekend. Or the day you can start consuming beer again because the weekend is close enough to make it ok.

hump beer: Beer consumed on Wednesday or in the middle of a project.

hump bumper:  the pads they put on the walls in hotel rooms instead of headboards so while your nailing a chick her head doesn't bang the wall.

hump and dump: what you do after nailing that chick, totally ignore her.

hump buddy: someone who doesn't follow you home after a good humpin, but still let's you hump again when hump day arrives, could be tues., thurs., fri..., as long as it's not the weekend.

hump diggity dog: words often used to describe ones elation after taking that first drink of the hump beer.

hump game: game played in bed by total geeks and badasses alike.

hump up: in the act of shitting where ones back is totally humped up like a constipated dog.

hump start: beginning your day, any day with a good humpin...and a beer

humpa: word used to describe one who goes around humpin anything that moves....stay still

hump a ho: to jump a curb; flip a biaatch; or make a uee; words used to describe  a u turn while having an erotic conversation while driving.

And that ladies and gentleman is only a few. If you have any leave a reply in comment section and we will use those next week or the next time we feel like telling someone to hump off.

X-SHOT Like Having Your Very Own Camera and Video Man

xShot
Ever had to take your own picture? It seems today that with all the new tech. equipment everything you take with you has some sort of camera or video attached to it. And we all like taking pictures right? I mean remember the one where David was crawling up that tree to get that cat down? Or how about the one where Nancy was trying to dance the Moon Walk by Michael Jackson recently? Well those were the easy snapshots to get because you were there to help. But what about the ones you posted on your blog, twitter and Facebook or Myspace that very clearly shows you standing in the mirror or holding the phone up over your head because no one was there to be your camera man? You know who you are! I seen them on your twitter profile and Facebook pages. I got to give you props though because without the photo no one knows who you are and if your just a friend that they met on those sites, they don't become your BFF very often unless they can put an identity with a user name. Get my drift? I want to know who I am talking to. I know sometimes they aren't the real photo. So for those of you who do put your picture up on your social site or download to email to your family, don't you want it to look neat?

Well I found the solution. And it's so easy a caveman could do it. Extend, Aim, Smile and X-Shot. Simple as that. No need to worry when no one else is around because this will capture your most inspired moments when you think you look your best and wish you had someone to snap that shot. It's also great for group shots, making film diaries or video clips because it is always pointing at you!
What are you waiting on? Get started now so you don't miss out on that one great photo capture and wish you had a do over. It's not only a great find for yourself it makes a smashing gift for your funny photo friends.
